For you pressure cooker fans out there: here are some holiday recipes that I developed for the Fagor LUX Multicooker. It's a multi-tasking machine that has many amazing functions!
I am excited to be working with Rumi Spice to help develop recipes using their beautiful, artisanal saffron from Afghanistan. The company works directly with rural farmers, 80% of whom are women.
I had the honor of giving a talk at Northwestern Memorial Hospital yesterday as part of their Healthy Lifestyle Challenge program for employees. I spoke about how to be your own personal chef, providing tips on cooking and eating healthy at home. Here are the recipes for the dishes we sampled. Thank you for having me, Northwestern Hospital!
I am finally getting around to posting some new sample menus on my site. Lots of fun dishes to try here--some for vegetarians, some for weight loss and the rest for everyone else! I'm always on the lookout for creative recipes--especially those that have lots of flavor and color. I use fresh herbs, spices, colorful vegetables--anything that might make the dish extra special!
It's a gray and rainy Sunday morning today. It seemed like the perfect weather for some home made banana bread. This recipe is not too sweet, which makes it a great bread for toasting with jam, cream cheese or some butter melted on top. Once the bread is cooled, cut into slices and store in the freezer. Sliced banana bread is a perfect quick breakfast for kids on a school day. The recipe is here. Enjoy!
I had the great pleasure of assisting Fagor, International in their booth at the International Housewares Show in March. Fagor has some amazing products including induction burners, sorbet makers, wine refrigerators and my favorite, pressure cookers!
This week's menu includes Chicken and Dumplings and Kombu Miso Stew.
Very excited to have my brand new Yelp page and my first review!
These cookies always remind me of snow capped mountains. They seemed appropriate to make now that the weather is officially cooler.
